Two Wins on the Road for U14 Stingers
Submitted By Deb McCarthy on Sunday, November 20, 2016
The Schoonderwoerd Bros U14 Stingers had a busy week as they played three games in the past 4 days.  On Thursday they traveled to London where they defeated the Lynx 9-4.

On home ice (in Monkton) on Saturday, they just didn't have enough to take on St. Thomas, as they came up short in the 4-3 loss.  Bri Cook, Samantha McCarthy, and Laura McCarthy all found the net with help from Jenna Regele, Cook, and Maya Belfour.  On Sunday, the team traveled to Waterloo to take on the Wildfire.  Cook came ready to play as she scored twice during the first 5 minutes of the game, with an assist going to Regele.  Laura McCarthy scored the third goal of the game with help from Maya Belfour, and Samantha McCarthy found the net for Mitchell's fourth goal.  Goalie, Amberleigh Dearing, stood strong in net, only letting in one goal of the many shots the Wildfire attempted.   The defensive pair of Sydney Smith and Emma Goetz were instrumental in keeping the ring out of the Stingers' end, while Gwenyth McKay, Joy Belfour, and Maddy Dixon were key in moving the ring down the ice during the offensive play.
