The team traveled to Niagara Falls this past weekend (March 1-3rd), bringing home their 3rd gold medal from tournaments this season.  The girls overcame illness, played as a team and showed perseverance to capture the championship.  After losing to the host team on Friday, they met them once again in the final.  Goalie, Amberleigh Dearing, guarded the net with skill, earning a shut out for the U16s.  Laura McCarthy, unassisted, opened the scoring with the only goal of the first period. Killing off penalties, key passing and a continuous effort by all paid off as the second period progressed. Kirsten McIntosh and Bri Cook scored one each, both with help from Laura McCarthy to make it a final score of 3-0.  Read More
